So scared

I haven't received a perm in years but half of my head is shaved and I have a sew-in on the other side. I'm in college so I am so afraid to cut the other side of my hair off... I don't want to look like a guy... But my aunt is a hair stylist and she shaves my head and she told me to shave the other side. I'm still skeptical... I may just let the shaved side grow (since it grows fast anyway) and when it's gets long enough, get braids or sew-ins until it's long enough to be even on both sides then continue my process from there... Still not sure tho :/
