The Big Chop

The only reason I did the big chop was because my in-law removed my sew in with a razor and cut my hair to the point I had no choice.

I was so embarrassed to sit in the barber shop full of men, cutting all my hair off. My husband really makes me feel insecure , and unattractive.

A woman's hair is similar to a man's ego. It really hurts my feelings; if he can't love me for me than he has to go. But since I have read these articles I am ready to snatch this hot a** wig off and embrace my natural beauty. What he and my best friend don't realize is that it is just hair. It will eventually grow back and it will be strong, thick and beautiful .

I do feel free but I just have to be patient and the results will be all worth the tears. Sorry for the messy background -- Toyia

Your story is really important. Thanks for sharing. When you don't have the support of the people you care about, a new style can be daunting.

However, the fact that you big chopped on your own without their approval shows your strength.

There is a quote by Lao Tzu which says,

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.”

Keep on going and growing your hair. You look great right now so the journey will be beautiful even so.
